September was a month of strong momentum for WBTC, marked by global celebrations, new campaigns, community education, and fresh integrations that continue to expand Bitcoin’s role in DeFi.

This month marked four years since El Salvador adopted Bitcoin as legal tender. WBTC joined the global celebration by highlighting how Bitcoin has grown far beyond payments. Today, it serves as the foundation for lending, yield, liquidity, and on-chain innovation. The anniversary reflects not only Bitcoin’s resilience but also the expanding possibilities that WBTC continues to unlock across DeFi.
September marked the launch of our “Enter a New Bitcoin Era” campaign, a major milestone in WBTC’s journey. The campaign introduced a refreshed website, signaling our renewed vision for Bitcoin in DeFi.
Alongside the visual revamp, we rolled out videos, a press release, partner highlights, QRTs, and an incentive article showcasing how leading protocols are integrating WBTC, from lending and borrowing to DEX liquidity, vaults, and more. Each partner spotlight featured APY opportunities and use cases, reinforcing WBTC’s role as the unified Bitcoin standard across chains.
This campaign set the stage for WBTC’s next chapter, bringing stronger visibility, deeper integrations, and new ways for users to put their Bitcoin to work.
In September, we published WBTC Decoded: Misconceptions about WBTC, addressing myths around withdrawals, custodians, and exchange listings. The post clarified that WBTC is always redeemable 1:1 for BTC, does not require custodian approval, and remains usable regardless of exchange listings. With transparent and verifiable reserves, WBTC continues to stand as Bitcoin’s most trusted representation in DeFi.
The WBTC community came together for an AMA with CoinRabbit, where we discussed how WBTC is driving a new era for Bitcoin in DeFi. Topics included lending, yield farming, and liquidity provision. The AMA also spotlighted our partnership with CoinRabbit and teased upcoming incentives, giving users a look at the growing ways WBTC can work for them.
On 18 September, WBTC partnered with Concrete to launch the Concrete Vault, providing users with a secure, flexible, and transparent way to earn yield on their WBTC. The vault deploys deposited WBTC across audited, actively managed strategies, including lending, DEX liquidity provision, and delta-neutral trades, with no lockups and a focus on risk-adjusted returns.
Participants can also access additional incentives, such as competitive APRs and reward tokens, making it an attractive option for both individual and institutional users. This integration further reinforces WBTC’s position as the leading representation of Bitcoin in DeFi and highlights the growing opportunities for Bitcoin yield across the ecosystem.
WBTC participated in Korea Blockchain Week, and spoke about WBTC, Setting a New Standard for DeFi Liquidity, during the Starknet BTCfi Summit event ahead of Token2049. At the Starknet session, we also shared insights on how WBTC and Starknet integration enhances Bitcoin’s usability, creating faster and more cost-efficient ways for users to deploy BTC in DeFi.
From celebrating El Salvador’s Bitcoin anniversary to launching the Enter a New Bitcoin Era campaign and expanding integrations like the Concrete Vault, September was a pivotal month for WBTC. With educational initiatives like WBTC Decoded and the upcoming BTCfi launch, WBTC is solidifying its position as the unified Bitcoin standard in DeFi. The journey ahead is clear: every Bitcoin should be able to move, earn, and create new value on-chain.
